Live Results, Text Alerts and Finish Video: Race-Day Results Today

What modern race-day results look like — live results, split alerts, finish-line video — and the questions race directors should ask their timer.

race directors

Runners and families expect to follow a race in real time. Here's what modern race-day results look like, and what race directors should ask their timer for.

Live results

As runners cross each timing point, results publish online within seconds — searchable by name, bib or school, and readable on a phone in the finish area. We provide live results with text and email alerts at every timing point, so families can watch their runner's splits as they happen.

Text and email alerts

Runners (or their families) opt in during registration and get a text or email when they cross the start, each split and the finish — with their time and pace. It's the single most popular feature with spectators at big road races.

Finish-line video and photos

We offer finish-line video for every finisher and same-day finish photos: a short clip of each runner crossing the line, linked from their result. It answers "did I really get out-kicked?" and gives every finisher something to share.

Results that last

Most timing results disappear into a third-party site after race day. Ours become permanent pages here — tied to each athlete's profile, personal bests and history at your race — so your event's results are still searchable years later.

Questions to ask any timer

  • How fast are results posted, and where?
  • Can runners get text alerts at splits?
  • Is finish video included, or extra?
  • Will results still be online in five years?
