LONG ISLAND, N.Y. — May 20, 2026 — Herricks' Kenneth Ramdayal won the boys discus at the Section 8 AAA County Championship with a personal-best 189-1, the best mark on record for the meet and the best on Long Island this season, and repeated as shot put champion at 55-6.5. Freeport's Angel Omokeni won the girls long jump at 18-3.5 and the triple jump at 37-9.5, both the best marks on record for the meet. Omokeni also won the long jump in 2025.
Four other field events produced the best marks on record. Uniondale's Ai'Shan Powell won the boys high jump at a personal-best 06-04.00 and the long jump at a personal-best 21-6. Massapequa's Kailyn Duffy won the girls high jump at a personal-best 05-06.00, Syosset's Julia Elmoraly repeated in the girls discus at a personal-best 127-1, and Uniondale's Molenson Jnmary won the boys triple jump at 44-8.5. Syosset's Jonah Kim repeated in the pole vault at 13-06.00, and Freeport's Aniyah Savage won the girls shot put at a personal-best 32-11.
Uniondale senior Ross Wallace won the 3200 in a personal-best 9:40.59, the fastest on Long Island this season, and also ran the fastest 1600 time, 4:30.14. East Meadow senior Zaria Hall, the 2025 winner in the 1500, 800 and 3000, won the 3000 in 11:04.93 and ran the fastest times in the 1500 (4:53.69) and 800 (2:18.88).
Massapequa senior Kyra Florio-Marinello won the girls 2000-meter steeplechase in a personal-best 7:22.52, 12.92 seconds ahead of the runner-up and the second-fastest time on Long Island this season. Junior Milo Christ won the boys steeplechase in a personal-best 10:16.10.
In the sprints, which were run in rounds, Baldwin senior Brandon Thweatt ran the fastest 100 time, 11.15, and the fastest 110-meter hurdles time, 14.91. Baldwin senior Tyrell Holder ran the fastest 200 time, 22.64, and Uniondale junior Saishun Lamour ran the fastest 400 time, a personal-best 49.18.
Baldwin junior Savannah Stephenson ran the fastest girls 100 and 200 times, both personal bests, at 12.41 and 25.10. Massapequa senior Emma Villalta ran the fastest girls 400 time, 57.50, and Oceanside senior Beatrice Musto ran the fastest 400-meter hurdles time, a personal-best 1:04.70. Farmingdale junior David Alexandre ran the fastest boys 400-meter hurdles time, a personal-best 58.05, and Massapequa sophomore Ryan Workman ran the fastest boys 800 time, a personal-best 1:58.26.
