Updated Winter TrackDivision Championship

Copiague senior Aaron McFadden won the 55-meter hurdles for the second straight year at the Section XI Boys Large School Championships, running 7.57 for the best mark on record for the meet. Longwood senior Kyle Watkins won the 300 in 35.34 and Brentwood senior Malik Sainnoval won the long jump at 23-01.00, and both of those marks were also the best on record for the meet.

McFadden improved on the 7.74 Huntington's Tyriek Johnson ran in 2012 and beat Commack senior Richard Kim (7.67) by 0.1 seconds, with Longwood junior Spencer Payton third in 7.71. McFadden's time was the fastest on Long Island this season.

Watkins won the 300 by 0.01 seconds over Half Hollow Hills West senior Kory Fitzgerald (35.35). Both ran personal bests and finished under the 35.80 William Floyd's Diamonte Corley ran in 2013, and Watkins' time was the fastest on Long Island this season. Sainnoval edged Sachem East senior Drew Alfano (23-00.00) in the long jump and passed the 23-00.25 Longwood's Dayshaun Taylor jumped in 2014.

Bay Shore senior Luciano Fiore won two events, the 1000 in 2:34.58 and the 1600 in 4:27.28. Fiore beat Smithtown East senior Matthew Whalen by 0.91 seconds in the 1000 and held off Sachem North sophomore Jonathan Lauer, who ran a personal-best 4:27.44, by 0.16 in the 1600.

Central Islip junior Livingstone Harriott Jr. also won twice, taking the 55 in a personal-best 6.58 and the triple jump with a personal-best 45-09.75, the best mark on Long Island this season. Harriott Jr. beat Patchogue-Medford senior Dominick Cassella (6.67) by 0.09 in the dash, and in the triple jump he finished ahead of defending champion Dwight Corley of William Floyd, who was second at 43-11.75.

Walt Whitman senior Chad Maier won the 3200 in a personal-best 9:46.35, 7.83 seconds ahead of Lindenhurst junior Cabel McCandless, and Walt Whitman senior Shamar Powell won the 600 in a personal-best 1:22.67, the second-fastest time on Long Island this season. Powell was just off the 1:22.43 Half Hollow Hills East's Jake Burcham ran in 2013, which remains the best on record for the meet.

Smithtown East sophomore Daniel Claxton won the high jump at 6-04.00, and Brentwood senior O'Brian Joslyn won the shot put with a personal-best 55-07.50, the best mark on Long Island this season.
